Postby deadstroke on September 24th, 2009, 12:29 pm

Just joined the forum, but been fishing the surf for several years.
latley been having very limited success with everytyhing I try, from top water to live bait .
so i guess its time to learn some new tricks. So if anyone has some tips im all ears.
Im using a breakaway 10' 6"w/ abu 6600 ( which i love dearly, thanks nick)
and distance isnt a problem, and several other rods for short to medium distance.
and still have been getting zilched, cant figure what im doing wrong!
so bring on tips if you would, I can use all the help i can get.

Hey Mike, curious to where you live at? Yes, you are correct somewhat. I wouldn't throw the weight in a field, the nose cone won't break unless it hits a rock or like. You would mostly likely break the tines off though. Not sure what size weight you want to throw, but I would recommend just buying some pyramid weights from Academy for practicing with.
